LONG JOHN SILVER’S – CASHIER/SERVICE SPECIALIST
General Summary:
An associate in this position serves customers by taking orders, preparing each order with the correct
food items, operating the cash register, clearing tables, and delivering orders as necessary; ensures
the freshness of the food served to each customer by preparing drinks, slaw and other food items
before the restaurant opens and as needed throughout the day; ensures the cleanliness of the
restaurant and all items within the restaurant by maintaining the front line, dining room or kitchen.
Daily cleaning of condiment pumps, service stations, pop machines, tea containers, tables, rest rooms,
trash cans, windows and floors, as well as other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Greets and engages with guests in a friendly manner at all times
2. Takes order from guests
3. Enters sales accurately into the POS system
4. Receives money and counts back change or runs credit cards thru system
5. Prepares cole slaw or other food items as directed
6. Makes coffee and tea
7. Washes work surfaces, tables, counters, sinks, dishes, cleans trash cans and windows
8. Sweeps and mops floors
9. Stocks service stations, condiment stands
10. Coordinates orders and ensures that food ordered is served in a timely manner
11. Ensures the correct food is served to guests on their order
12. Clears and cleans tables
13. Removes trash from containers and takes to dumpster
14. Stocks or re-stocks service area ( ice / sauces, etc )
15. Hazards may include slipping, falling, being cut by sharp instruments, and burns
16. Works in extreme conditions, both hot and cold
17. Follows all Long John Silver’s and Bayway Inc policies and procedures
Job Specifications:
1. Speaks clearly and understandably
2. Lifts and carries up to 50 pounds and moves containers throughout day
3. Stands, bends, stoops and reaches above head at times during shift
4. Reads, writes, counts and measures
5. Operates the POS system and makes change
6. Memorizes menu and menu items and substitutions
7. Interacts with guests and team members throughout entire shift
8. Stretches, balances and climbs
9. Uses upper body and arm strength
10. No experience required
Job Type: Part-time
