Job Type: Part-Time, Weekend Shifts, Rotating Holidays
Work Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, with rotating holiday shifts. Has the ability to pickup as needed/ Day shift 7-3 & 6-2
Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Cook to join our team at our assisted living community that prioritizes the health, wellness, and comfort of our residents. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appetizing meals that cater to the specific dietary needs of our elderly residents, ensuring that each meal is prepared with care and meets our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, well-balanced, and appealing food.
- Ensure food safety practices are followed, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining area, following health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering kitchen supplies and groceries as needed.
- Work closely with the rest of the kitchen and facility team to ensure smooth and efficient meal service.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting residents and responding to their dietary needs and meal preferences.
- Prepare and serve meals on holidays as per rotating schedule.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary needs of elderly individuals.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when interacting with residents.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to work with hot surfaces, ovens, and kitchen equipment safely.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work every other Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
- Must be available for rotating holiday shifts.
