Job Summary
The role of Line Cook is key to supporting kitchen operations for the Old Caz taproom. During kitchen hours the line cook will prepare food, take and deliver orders to guests, bus tables and assist the kitchen supervisor as needed. Outside of kitchen hours they will support the kitchen supervisor by prepping food, washing dishes, cleaning, and restocking supplies.
Responsibilities
- Prepping & cooking all menu items for food service
- Running orders to customers
- Support kitchen operations by bussing tables, washing dishes, and restocking supplies
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support the front of house staff by taking orders as needed.
- Empty trash containers regularly.
- Restock the customer self service station; replace napkins, utensils, condiments, etc.
- Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping.
- Clean food prep stations and kitchen equipment.
- Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments.
- Skilled in food preparation techniques, including slicing, chopping, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff during busy periods.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, professional, and supportive in stressful and fast-paced situations.
- Capacity to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of related experience in the food service industry or related field is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Eligible to work in the U.S
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time during customary service hours.
- Able to bend, stoop or reach as needed.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 30 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds with assistance.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this role ranges from $24.00 to $26.00. In addition to base pay, the position includes monthly performance incentives and eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package featuring Paid Time Off and Health Care coverage.
