Job Description:
The Carpenter precisely measures, cuts, and assembles the framing lumber needed to build or remodel residential homes, garages, boat houses and other structures. The Carpenter could work on new construction, remodels, or additions to existing structures. A set of plans – typically blueprints – guide the Carpenter in construction projects with coordination from the Project Manager.
The Carpenter could work on any of the follow:
- Rough framing of new structures/remodels
- Finish carpentry
- Siding, soffit, and facia work
- Demolition of existing structures
- Installation of windows and doors
- Building of decks, patios, porches, and pergolas
- Cleanup of construction sites
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Ability to read, measure accurately and operate basic carpentry tools
High School Diploma
Experience in the Construction Industry
Preferred Skills :
Reading of blueprints and/or design plans
Local travel is required to job sites and vendor locations with private auto (mileage reimbursement is provided) and incumbent must have ability to lift 50 pounds
The Carpenter will work at high points of a structure when preparing for roofing, installing siding and windows, and other jobs. This work may be performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
