Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled and very efficient Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences in our restaurant, ensuring that each dish is prepared with precision and care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
- Assist in the training of new kitchen staff as required.
- Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
- Communicate effectively with BOH as well as FOH.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices, including proper food handling techniques.
- Familiarity with fine dining standards and the ability to deliver high-quality dishes consistently.
- Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, demonstrating the ability to multitask effectively.
- A background as a dietary aide or in the dietary department can be beneficial but is not required.
- Knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods are essential.
