The Job Coach supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining competitive employment. This position provides hands-on coaching, job development, workplace training, and ongoing support to help participants succeed in their chosen work environments.
The Job Coach also builds positive relationships with local employers and community partners to create meaningful employment opportunities that align with each participant’s skills, interests, and goals.
Key Responsibilities

Provide on-site and off-site job coaching, training, and support to program participants.

Assist participants with learning job tasks, workplace expectations, professional behavior, and job retention skills.

Support participants in setting employment goals and developing individualized training plans.

Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, employers, and community partners.

Identify potential job opportunities through networking, outreach, employer visits, and job development activities.

Communicate regularly with participants, employers, families/circles of support, and Loveland team members.

Conduct assessments, progress reviews, and follow-up support as needed.

Respect participant rights, preferences, dignity, and independence at all times.

Use coaching methods that reflect each participant’s learning style, strengths, and support needs.

Maintain professional standards related to health, safety, supervision, confidentiality, and public relations.

Complete required documentation, trainings, certifications, and continuing education requirements.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, human resources, or a related field, plus at least 1 year of related experience working with individuals with disabilities; or

Associate’s degree in a related field plus at least 2 years of related experience; or
-
At least 4 years of related experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Valid Florida driver’s license required.

Ability to safely transport program participants as needed.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general administrative software.

Ability to use the internet, email, and social media for professional purposes.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to schedule changes.

Commitment to providing respectful, person-centered support.

CPR, First Aid, HIV, and other required certifications must be obtained and maintained as required.
Physical Requirements
This position may require standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and using hands for job-related tasks. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Work settings may vary based on participant employment locations and job coaching needs. The position may involve indoor work environments, employer job sites, community settings, and occasional disruptions or schedule changes.
