Position Summary
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Machine Shop Helper to support a wide range of production activities in our CNC machining facility. This hands-on role encompasses deburring, finishing, edge breaking, sanding, and polishing of machined components, as well as part cleaning, inspection, packaging, and kitting for shipment. The associate will also manage shipping and receiving, perform basic preventive maintenance on machines, assist machinists with material staging and setup, maintain shop organization and cleanliness, and occasionally serve as a driver for local deliveries and pickups. The ideal candidate combines reliability, strong shop-floor awareness, and the ability to work across multiple areas of operations while ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deburring, finishing, sanding, polishing, and cleaning of machined components.
- Prepare parts for shipment including labeling, packaging, and kitting.
- Handle shipping and receiving of materials and finished products, including occasional local deliveries.
- Conduct basic preventive maintenance on machines and shop equipment.
- Assist machinists with material staging, tooling, and setup if required.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas and contribute to inventory management.
- Operate basic shop equipment safely and follow all safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Knowledge of deburring, finishing, and preparation of machined components.
- Experience with shipping/receiving and basic inventory practices.
- Must have a valid Driver's License with Clean record for insurance purposes.
- Ability to operate shop equipment safely and perform basic preventive maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and reliability.
