Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Rest Area Attendant to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our rest area facilities. This role is vital in providing travelers with a comfortable, hygienic environment where they can relax and refresh. As a Rest Area Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of sanitation, performing custodial duties, and ensuring the safety of all visitors and staff. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive experience for every guest who stops by.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of restrooms, lounge areas, picnic spots, and surrounding facilities using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle custodial tasks such as trash removal, floor buffing, mopping, sweeping, and surface disinfecting to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers and other custodial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards, reporting issues promptly for resolution.
- Follow strict safety protocols when handling chemical agents and performing manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or equipment movement.
- Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring proper storage and adherence to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Support general facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs or painting as needed to keep the area in top condition.
Qualifications
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience is preferred, especially in commercial or industrial cleaning environments.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, sanitation practices, and the operation of cleaning equipment like floor buffers.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely following established safety procedures.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards visitors and team members.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or residential painting is a plus.
