ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The Employee will maintain a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning. This includes proper supervision and safety, maintaining proper demeanor, and maintaining a professional appearance.
- Impart God’s truth and academic excellence into the lives of the students using lesson plans, curriculum, supplementary materials, field trips, and special guests as appropriate to provide a world-class education.
- Work with principal to resolve departmental schedules, issues, or concerns and to collaborate on resources, training, and horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Attend and participate in the following:
- Monthly staff/faculty meetings
- Devotional Meeting
- Evening programs if involving his or her students or is a school wide event
- Other meetings as assigned
- Provide help classes after school as needed (elementary) or as requested by students or parents (secondary).
- Grade and enter grades weekly for each subject
- Report cards four times a year
- Grade records for permanent file
- Weekly eligibility reports for athletes
- Inventories of classroom equipment/supplies/books
- End of year debriefing evaluation form
- Daily records of attendance
- Administration and scoring of achievement tests
- Other paperwork as assigned or requested
- Building/classroom organization, cleaning and reporting repairs
- Be responsible for daily and end-of-year cleaning of classroom area.
- Assist in overall cleanliness of facilities
- Promptly report safety/repair needs for the administration
- Oversee and supervise classroom parties at designated holidays (elementary)
- Maintain proper classroom discipline, taking care of minor problems personally and referring major problems to the principal.
- Be available to any parents or students who wish to have a conference before or after school
- Remain after school for such meetings and conferences as may be called by the Administrator or department head
- Hold at least twice-yearly conferences with parents of each student
- Supervise extracurricular activities, organizations, outings as assigned
