JOB
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill two (2) vacancies for the classification of Public Works Student Intern (Part-Time) in the Department of Public Works. This recruitment is specifically for Infrastructure, Design and Construction and Land Development. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under direct supervision, performs work of routine difficulty designed to provide hands on learning experience related to the Engineering, GIS, or Facilities Design and Construction Divisions of the City's Public Works Department; and performs related duties as assigned.
VACANCY INFORMATION:
- This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position.
- This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, paid time off, wage increases, or union representation.
- This position requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS).
- Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week (Monday - Thursday). Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need.
- External candidates, probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary City of Henderson employees will start at the first step of the salary range.

- Graduation from high school or equivalent

Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university program with a major in engineering, construction management, architecture, GIS or a closely related field

Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483

Desirable: Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS Software
