Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and load shipments using equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Perform accurate picking and packing of orders using RF scanners and order picker tools to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain precise inventory records utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory management software.
- Conduct stock replenishment, stocking, and organization within the warehouse to optimize space and accessibility.
- Prepare shipments for dispatch by packaging products according to shipping & receiving standards and trade compliance regulations.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and data entry tasks to uphold stock accuracy.
- Support shipping logistics activities including order processing, load & unload operations, and coordinating with carriers for international trade compliance when necessary.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment or distribution center is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including order fulfillment, picking & packing, and shipping logistics is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills are essential for inventory counting, measurements, and data entry accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) is beneficial for reporting and documentation tasks.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, or similar tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of South African, British and other foods is beneficial.
