Areté Engineers, PLLC is a professional services firm located in Blowing Rock, NC and Morganton, NC. We provide engineering services to state DOT’s, municipal agencies, residential and commercial clients. We are currently seeking candidates for a full-time Structural Engineering position. This is an in-office position located in Blowing Rock, NC.
In the role of Structural Engineer, one should expect to fulfill the following duties and expectations.
- Provide engineered design on both residential and commercial construction.
- Develop drawings to be used as construction documents through hand-drawings and/or AutoCAD.
- Apply technical knowledge to design of common construction materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.
- Complete site visits for inspections, construction administration, or gathering measurements for plans.
- Develop assessment reports based on field assessments.
- P.E.’s are expected to manage projects and seal construction documents.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- E.I.T. (FE Exam Passed)
- A commitment to integrate as a team member and communicate effectively.
- AutoCAD
- P.E. license or ability to obtain within 1-2 years.
- Experience with modeling software or ability to quickly learn how to use software programs such as RAM, STAAD, SAP or IES Visual Analysis.
- Experience in Commercial / Residential Structural Design or Construction
