Duties
- Assist experienced painters with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, and cleaning surfaces before painting or finishing.
- Mix paints and primers accurately using basic math skills to ensure proper color matching and consistency.
- Handle hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns, and other basic equipment to support painting tasks.
- Prepare work areas by covering furniture, masking surfaces, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely.
- Support with the application of paint using airless paint spraying equipment and power tools for efficient coverage.
- Assist in plastering, stucco application, drywall finishing, and fixture installation to ensure seamless renovations.
- Read blueprints or schematics to understand project specifications and assist with trim carpentry or masonry work as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience on construction sites or in renovation projects is highly desirable but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and basic construction safety protocols.
- Knowledge of construction estimating concepts and blueprint reading is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working at heights safely.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating quantities accurately.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on teamwork, safety compliance, and attention to detail.
