American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an outpatient surgicenter in Kansas City, MO, requiring strong orthopedic surgical experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Outpatient ambulatory surgicenter setting in Kansas City, MO

Operating Room with Pre-op and PACU coverage responsibilities
-
Approximately 95% orthopedic surgical cases, including ACL repairs, total joints, and arthroscopic procedures

Pre-op patient ratio is 1:1; PACU patient ratio is 2:1

Floating required between Pre-op and PACU
-
Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
-
12-week contract
-
No weekends and no holidays required
-
No EMR system in use
-
Active MO RN license or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required

Orthopedic surgical experience required — candidates without it will not be considered

Two professional references required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Responsibilities include starting IVs, preparing patients for surgery, and recovering patients in Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU

Critical care and outpatient surgical experience are preferred

Ideal candidates are versatile, team-oriented, and possess strong critical thinking and patient communication skills

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
