Certified counselor
provides clinical therapeutic services to an adult population composed of substance-abusing and dual-diagnosed persons. Responsible for screening, assessments, treatment planning, caseload management, individual counseling, crisis management, and coordination of care.
During intake in 24 timeframe complete ASAM assessment and Bio if needed in 72 hours time.
Regularly check group and individuals done on time and accurate.
Job Duties:
- Facilitate group ses.
- Manage clinical group schedule and patient group assignments.
- Provide high quality, compassionate, and ethical treatment to clients.
- Provide individual therapy as needed.
- Meet one on one with patients min once a week to provide guidance on treatment goals and assist with aftercare planning.
- Recognize, respond to, and assist in psychiatric crisis situations and provide the intervention necessary.
- Participate in clinical staff meetings, trainings, and other activities as required.
- Actively participate as a positive member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation same day as date of service.
- Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities, if applicable.
- Complete all recommended continuing education requirements.
- Adheres to facility polices & procedures, Joint Commission Standards, & DCFS Rules & Regulations.
- Secure client information per HIPAA standards.
- Provides in-service training as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Supervise intern staff members.

- Must be certified CADC
- ASAM assessments.
- UR preparation.

- Knowledge of DSM-V and SMI diagnoses, psychopharmacology, substance abuse, addictions, recovery, relapse prevention, and 12-step treatment philosophy.
- Knowledge of the principles of cultural competency and adherence to its philosophy.
- Knowledge of behavioral health services delivery systems policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of state and local behavioral health resources.
- Knowledge of state behavioral health individual and agency licensure regulations and requirements.
- Knowledge in Joint commissions standards.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work under pressure and address events/crises which may develop unexpectedly.
- Strong computer skills required, experience with KIPU electronic medical records preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and professionals.
- Crisis solving including AMA
- Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Strong assessment skills.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain the following:
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Evidence of freedom from infectious pulmonary tuberculosis

Pay: $35.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
