The Pineapple Inn & Housing Center (PIHC) and Be the Change Hospitality (BTC) are looking for a compassionate, organized, and dependable Administrative Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll help keep our programs running smoothly while supporting our mission of serving individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability in the Williamsburg area.
While this position is administrative in nature and does not include case management or housing services, your work will play an important part in helping our guests receive the support they need.
What You'll Do
As our Administrative Assistant, you'll help with a variety of day-to-day tasks, including:
- Providing general office support, including filing, scanning, copying, and organizing electronic and paper records.
- Scheduling meetings, appointments, and maintaining calendars.
- Assisting with fundraising projects, social media, and our online presence.
- Preparing program and welcome packets for Be the Change Hospitality guests.
- Tracking important documentation, including identification, birth certificates, and income verification.
- Maintaining spreadsheets, program records, and administrative logs.
- Assisting with volunteer coordination and organizing hospitality supplies and donations.
- Preparing resource materials and printed information for guests and community initiatives.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
- Friendly, professional, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
- Comfortable working in a hotel-based stabilization environment with compassion and respect for every individual.
- Proficient with email, spreadsheets, digital file management, and standard office equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
Preferred Experience
It's a plus if you have experience in:
- Administrative support
- Hospitality
- Nonprofit or human services organizations
- Volunteer coordination
- Document preparation
- Trauma-informed practices (training will be provided)
- Bilingual communication skills (helpful but not required)

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
