Mid-Continent Coal and Coke Co. - Clairton, PA
Our 80-year-old privately held company is looking for a full-time (40+ hours/week) Operator/Loader in the Clairton, PA area. If you are looking for a long-term career with diverse duties, this may be the perfect position for you!
Some responsibilities/skills required include:
- Ability to understand and follow all company and OSHA safe work practices
- Ability to work 10 hour shifts Tue-Fri or Wed-Sat schedule depending on business need
- Experience operating heavy equipment (articulated loader) and a skid steer
- Experience working around conveyors and large stationary machinery, such as vibrating screens
- Basic knowledge of truck scaling/weigh ticket preparation
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment routine maintenance is a plus
- Willingness and ability to perform manual labor (shoveling, cleaning, fastening, using tools, etc.)
Candidates must also be able to follow specific detailed instructions and work in a safety-oriented manner. You must be comfortable with frequently wearing necessary PPE such as fall protection with harness and lanyard for aspects of the job. The position is year-round, and most of the work is done in an outdoor environment during various weather conditions.
Additional requirements include:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- 1-3 years experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and move 100 lbs with no restrictions
- Ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders (fixed and portable)
- Ability and willingness to work overtime or a rotation schedule as required
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and and criminal background check.
