Patient Care Coordinator / Vision Insurance Specialist
We are seeking a motivated and professional team member with excellent communication skills to join our growing eye care practice.
Responsibilities:
- Contact patients by phone to discuss eye health recommendations and schedule appointments.
- Explain exam findings, treatment recommendations, and follow-up care in a clear and professional manner.
- Verify and explain vision insurance benefits and coverage to patients.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions, scheduling, and office information.
- Work efficiently within Electronic Health Record (EHR) and medical software systems.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Provide outstanding customer service and patient support.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and patient follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking with patients and explaining eye health information.
- Knowledge of vision insurance plans, benefits, and authorizations preferred.
- Experience working with EHR/EMR medical software.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or medical office is preferred.

We are looking for someone who can confidently communicate with patients, explain the importance of eye health, and help guide them through the scheduling and insurance process while providing exceptional customer service.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
