Position Summary
The HR Recruiting & Employee Relations Generalist is responsible for leading full-cycle recruiting and providing day-to-day Human Resources support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key resource for hiring managers, supervisors, and employees by supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, leave administration, and routine Human Resources matters.
This is a fully on-site position based in Sanford, Florida. The successful candidate will maintain a visible presence throughout the manufacturing facility, build strong working relationships with employees and supervisors, and help ensure Human Resources processes are administered consistently, professionally, and in compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly, salaried, technical, engineering, and manufacturing positions to support current and future workforce needs.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies, identify staffing needs, and evaluate candidates.
- Source, screen, and coordinate candidates through online recruiting platforms, employee referrals, networking, career fairs, and community outreach.
- Coordinate pre-employment activities including interviews, offer letters, background checks, employment verification, and drug screening.
- Maintain candidate pipelines and recruiting metrics to support current and future workforce needs.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation while ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Maintain a visible daily presence throughout the manufacturing facility through routine floor walks, employee engagement, and supervisor support.
- Assist employees with FMLA, disability, and other leave-related processes by providing information and coordinating required documentation.
- Maintain employee personnel records and Human Resources documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions and Human Resources matters, resolving routine issues independently and escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience with significant full-cycle recruiting responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated success recruiting hourly manufacturing employees, including welders, assemblers, machine operators, material handlers, and other skilled trades positions.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage recruiting, onboarding, and routine Human Resources matters while exercising sound professional judgment.
- Experience managing multiple open requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations, documenting findings, and supporting corrective action processes preferred.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, disability leave coordination, and employment law.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and Human Resources best practices.
- Experience using HRIS, ATS, Microsoft Office applications, and Paycom preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work in a highly visible, hands-on manufacturing environment and build strong working relationships with employees and supervisors at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Working Conditions
- This is a fully on-site position based in Sanford, Florida. Regular attendance during normal business hours is required.
- Frequent walking throughout production departments, warehouse areas, and office locations is required.
- Daily exposure to manufacturing operations, equipment, noise, and industrial working conditions.
- Regular interaction with employees, supervisors, managers, and job applicants throughout the facility.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided by the company and required when entering designated production areas.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk throughout the manufacturing facility multiple times daily and remain mobile for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and occasionally lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to operate a computer and perform administrative duties for extended periods.
- Ability to travel locally to recruiting events, career fairs, educational institutions, and community outreach activities as needed.
