Position Summary:
Symphony Park, an upscale Independent Living Resort, is looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. This position requires a dedicated individual who can contribute to the high standards of food preparation and presentation in our resort's diverse dining establishments. The ideal candidate will have a flair for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional meals for our residents and guests.
Essential Job Functions:

Prepare and cook meals according to the menu, ensuring high quality and presentation standards are met.

Assist in the planning and development of menu items and recipes.

Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner, to temperature requirements, and to guest specifications.

Ensure dietary requirements, and food allergy restrictions are strictly adhered to. Ensuring safety for all residents and guests

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment to ensure optimal working efficiency.

Manage food inventory and storage, minimizing waste.

Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Attends training courses at community and maintains up to date monthly, quarterly, and annual training.

Other duties as assigned, and which relate to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of our residents.
Experience Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience as a cook, ideally in a high-end restaurant or hospitality environment.

Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures.

Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.

Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Squat – must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.

Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck while, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.

Reach– must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.

Hear - Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices.
