Job Overview
PAT is seeking dynamic and dedicated College Entrance Exam Tutors to inspire and guide high school students preparing for critical standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in test preparation, curriculum development, and educational technology to help students achieve their academic goals. Whether working online or in-person, you will create engaging lessons, provide personalized coaching, and foster a supportive learning environment that motivates students to excel.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive SAT, ACT, and PSAT preparation tutoring tailored to individual student needs, focusing on test-taking strategies, time management, and content mastery.
- Develop customized lesson plans that incorporate test preparation course instruction, educational technology integration, and curriculum development principles.
- Assess student progress regularly through practice tests and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.
- Support students in strengthening core skills such as English, Math, writing, and test-taking skills tutoring.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, lesson plans, and instructional materials to ensure consistent quality of tutoring services.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with high schoolers in a tutoring or teaching capacity, including private tutoring experience or classroom experience.
- Strong knowledge of standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT, including test preparation guidance and test-taking skills tutoring.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans using educational technology tools and online tutoring platforms.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Background in teaching English, Math, or related subjects with experience working with teenagers or in adult education settings preferred.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and curriculum development for diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to adapt instruction for different learning needs; experience with test preparation course instruction is a plus.
