Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field required.

Indiana Indiana teaching license in instrumental/general music education or eligibility to obtain licensure
Job Responsibilities:
-
Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards for Music.
-
Teach middle school and/or high school concert band, beginning band, jazz band, pep band, marching band, and other instrumental ensembles as assigned.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and varying skill levels.
-
Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate grade records.
-
Prepare students for concerts, contests, festivals, and community performances.
-
Integrate music theory, music history, performance techniques, and musicianship into instruction.
-
Develop and maintain a positive, student-centered band culture.
-
Recruit and retain students in the band program.
-
Coordinate all band performances, rehearsals, competitions, and travel arrangements.

Maintain inventory, care, and organization of instruments, uniforms, music library, and equipment.

Assist with budgeting and purchasing of music, instruments, supplies, and equipment.

Collaborate with administration and other staff to support school initiatives and student success.

Conducts assigned activities from the administration, in conformity with the approved policies of the Board of Education and State and Federal Law.

Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.

Develops reasonable procedures and rules of behavior in the classroom and maintains order in a fair and just manner.

Participates cooperatively with the principal in performance evaluations.

Performs other duties as assigned at the request of the superintendent, superintendent designee, or principal.
