American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a large Level I Trauma Center requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of ED experience and current TNCC, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Large short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds
-
Emergency Department setting at a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center
-
Average patient ratio of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating required to other campuses and ED observation within scope to meet facility needs

Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units

Charting via Epic

Block scheduling accommodations available

Parking costs approximately $125/month

Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license accepted

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC

Minimum 1.5 years of ED experience from a comparable hospital setting; 2 years preferred

Level I Trauma Center experience required, preferably at a large facility

Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary action

1 professional reference required for consideration

Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted

COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions accepted

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this role

Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler

RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires manager approval
-
Weekend call-out policy: any missed weekend shift must be made up on another weekend shift within the following 6-week scheduling period

Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility

Virtual orientation takes place on the Friday start date; onsite reporting begins the following Monday
