Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Stand Up Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating stand-up forklifts and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and organize materials within our distribution center. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, safety standards, and materials handling will ensure smooth operations and maintain a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical knowledge, manual handling skills, and experience with various types of forklifts to support our warehouse distribution processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload goods safely and efficiently
- Manage inventory movement using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock locations and quantities accurately
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure operational safety
- Support warehouse supervisor in maintaining safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Participate in manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and materials transfer while adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse layout, storage solutions, and distribution workflows
Requirements
- Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes, shipping & receiving protocols, and inventory control
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment repair and troubleshooting forklift issues
- Strong understanding of safety standards in production environments, including OSHA compliance
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting with proper technique
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and documentation accuracy
- Experience with clamp trucks, load & unload operations, and heavy equipment operation is preferred
- Warehouse supervision experience or familiarity with warehouse management system administration is a plus
