Accounts Payable Accountant

Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Accountant will be responsible for the full accounts payable cycle, vendor management, invoice processing, reconciliations, and reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an excellent communicator, and possesses advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Query skills to improve workflow efficiency and data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Review invoices for proper coding and approval
- Manage vendor relationships and promptly resolve discrepancies
- Prepare daily check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable subledger
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation
- Analyze AP data and create reports using Excel and Power Query
- Develop and improve reporting processes and workflow efficiencies
- Collaborate with purchasing, project management, and accounting teams
- Assist with audits and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable or General Accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP
- SUMIFS
- Power Query, Cowork, Copilot
- Data validation and reporting
- Experience with SQL ERP Studio Design Desktop or similar accounting software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in interior design, construction, furniture, manufacturing, or project-based industries
- Experience with inventory or purchasing processes
- Knowledge of sales tax and vendor compliance requirements
- Experience creating automated Excel/Workflow solutions
