Responsibilities
- Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks.
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches efficiently and securely.
- Use chainsaws and hand tools to cut branches, limbs, or entire trees with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Implement arborist rigging techniques for controlled tree dismantling or limb removal, ensuring safety for team members and property.
- Conduct plant pruning care and tree trimming to promote healthy growth and enhance landscape aesthetics.
- Perform land clearing activities including tree removal while minimizing environmental impact.
- Follow all safety procedures rigorously, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to industry standards.
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, and general horticulture when needed.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including GIS (Geographic Information System) data for mapping tree locations and health status.
- Collaborate with team members on rigging setups using arborist rigging techniques for complex or hazardous removals.
Skills
- Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on tree care or landscaping environments.
- Strong knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal procedures, and pruning practices.
- Skilled in bucket truck operation and bucket operation safety protocols.
- Familiarity with GIS technology for mapping or tracking trees within landscapes or urban settings.
- Proficiency with chainsaws, hand tools, and other equipment used in tree maintenance.
- Understanding of safety protocol adherence specific to climbing activities at height and aerial lift operations.
- Experience in horticulture, dendrology (study of trees), or landscape maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, lifting heavy loads, and working in various weather conditions.
- Growing experience in landscaping or lawn care adds value to your versatility on the job site.
