Assistant Program Director – Louisburg Rec Commission (LRC)

About Us: The LRC is a community-focused organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the Louisburg community. We're looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Assistant Director to support daily operations, collaborate with the Executive Director, and help support programs and opportunities for the Louisburg community.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and energetic Assistant Director to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Executive Director, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the LRC.
This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving problems, and is passionate about making a positive impact in the Louisburg community.
Responsibilities:
- Support the daily operations of the Louisburg Rec Commission
- Assist with team management and scheduling
- Recruit, onboard, schedule, and support volunteers
- Partner with the Executive Director to develop and expand enrichment opportunities that meet the needs and interests of the Louisburg community
- Help plan, coordinate, and implement programs, events, and community activities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment for children, families, volunteers, and staff
- Step into a leadership role when the Executive Director is unavailable
- Assist with general operational tasks as needed. This is a team-first position where flexibility and collaboration are essential
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in education, recreation, non-profit, or a leadership role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual
- Comfortable working with children, seniors, & families
- Ability to recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers
- Ability to collaborate with community partners and contribute to new program development
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with staff scheduling, volunteer coordination, program development, or event planning
Schedule:
- Full-time, 30-hour-per-week position.
- Some evening and weekend hours are required based on programming and organizational needs
- Schedule flexibility is expected to support the needs of the organization
