Assembly Technician II – Medical Device / High-Tech Manufacturing

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00/hour (Based on Experience)

About the Role
Emkat Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Technician II to support a leading medical device and high-tech manufacturing company in Billerica, MA.
This role is critical to ensuring high-quality production, process improvement, and manufacturing efficiency. You will work closely with engineers and production teams to assemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and improve advanced products in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, package, and test electronic, optical, and mechanical components
- Perform precision assembly and inspection using microscopes and measuring tools
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, and specifications
- Perform rework, quality testing, and defect identification
- Document and report non-conforming materials and process issues
- Maintain accurate production records and traceability documentation
- Support process improvements, validations, and engineering activities
- Perform basic troubleshooting and fault isolation
- Maintain GMP and cleanroom standards
Technical Skills & Equipment
- Microscopes and precision assembly tools
- Measurement tools and quality documentation
- DVM, temperature meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies
- Basic electronics knowledge
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Soldering (Preferred – Higher Pay Tier)
- Fine Pitch Soldering
- Through-Hole Soldering
- Wire Soldering
Basic Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3–5+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience
- Experience in GMP or regulated environments (medical preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive work
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Candidate Requirements (STRICT SCREENING)
To be considered, candidates must meet ALL of the following:
- Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite
- Must show stable work history (2–3+ years tenure at previous jobs preferred)
- Must demonstrate strong attendance and punctuality
- Must have a positive attitude and high-performance mindset
- Must be a U.S. Person / U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug test (including THC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Cleanroom or controlled environment experience
- Ability to train and mentor new employees
- Experience working with engineers on process improvements
