The Patient Access Central Unit Authorization Representative will be responsible for timely and accurate processes associated with some or all of the following:

Authorization

Insurance Verification
The Authorization Representative is responsible for requesting, obtaining and following up on authorization requests. Requests and interdepartmental scheduling with minimal delay to patients. Correct utilization of all systems and accurately enters all mandatory information. Manage daily operations including but not limited to: ePTAC, Meditech 5.6, Meditech Expanse, PODS (Pre-operative Document System), OnBase, Payer Websites, Faxes and Phone.
In this role you will:

Requests, obtains and follows up on authorization requests in a prompt and timely manner

Contacts the facilities, physicians' offices and/or insurance companies

Document actions taken on the account clearly and concisely

Establishes and maintains a working knowledge and vocabulary of procedures scheduled

Utilize appropriate communication systems to facilitate communication with hospital gatekeeper

Participate in ongoing education and training as needed

Demonstrates commitment to teamwork and cooperation

Adhere to all policies and procedures, including phone and internet usage, break utilization, etc.
What qualifications you will need:

High school diploma or GED preferred

1 year of related experience required
