The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of DSA-regulated or public works construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role works closely with owners, architects, consultants, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable regulations and contract requirements. The ideal candidate has experience managing projects within DSA or public sector environments, including school, municipal, or other government-funded construction projects.
Manage all phases of DSA or public works construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and project execution.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, inspectors, and governing agencies to ensure compliance with all project regulations and requirements.
Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and financial reporting.
Manage subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, and contract administration.
Maintain and monitor project schedules to ensure key milestones and delivery timelines are achieved.
Review and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and compliance documentation.
Work closely with field superintendents to monitor construction progress and address jobsite issues.
Coordinate required inspections, testing, and documentation related to DSA or public works compliance.
Lead project meetings with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
Oversee project closeout including punch list completion, documentation, and final agency approvals.
8+ years of experience as a Project Manager working for a general contractor.
Experience managing DSA projects or public works construction projects such as schools, municipal facilities, or other government-funded developments.
Strong understanding of public sector construction requirements, compliance, inspections, and documentation processes.
Experience managing ground-up or major renovation construction projects.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools.
