Job Description
First Source Worldwide (FSW) manufactures and distributes tailor-made chemicals and colorants. We focus on sourcing quality chemical and dye products for use across multiple industries and applications including leather, textile, paper, coatings, carpet, wood, and more.
FSW is currently looking for an operations supervisor for our second shift Monday to Friday 3:00 am to 11:30 pm.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee plant operations with planning activities to efficiently utilize human capital and equipment of the facility.
- Lead operations to develop, implement and audit systems, equipment and procedures prioritizing safety and quality of process and product.
- Ensures employees are assigned appropriate work duties in which they are capable of safely performing.
- Supervise personnel to resolve conflict, manage performance, and provide discipline and coaching.
- Ensure departments are meeting key performance indicators on a daily, weekly, monthly basis; reviews performance levels to discover areas of improvement and properly executes resolutions.
- Keeps facility operating according to the ISO 9001:2015 coded quality management system and supports the 5S program.
- Ensures the safety of all facility employees by meeting or exceeding applicable standards and regulations including occupational safety & health, environmental control, and regulatory compliance.
- Train new employees on SOPs, forklift, and the floor scrubber.
- Write and update SOPs as needed and then train all employees on these SOPs.
- Assist production personnel as needed to get production batches finished.
- Ensure that all batch sheets are being filled out correctly.
- Assist shipping personnel as needed to pull and prepare orders.
- Load and unload trucks when needed.
- QC batches as needed
- Perform other duties and tasks as directed and needed.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of employees and management
- Proven management skills and abilities
- Prior supervisory experience a must
- Attention to detail with daily, weekly production needs to be met.
- Strong motivator
- ISO management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability of a small organization
- Proficient using Microsoft Office software package- excellent excel skills
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs when warehouse assistance is needed.
- Must have reliable transportation.
