Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and licensed Esthetician Instructor to lead our part-time morning program. The instructor will deliver both theoretical classroom instruction and hands-on clinical lab training. This position is responsible for preparing students to successfully earn their Florida Facials Specialty Registration or complete the facial/skin care competencies of the Cosmetology program.
● Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
● Hourly Rate: Starts at $32.00 / hour
● Start Date: August 3rd, 2026
Key Responsibilities & Core Curriculum Areas
Guided by the FDOE Curriculum Frameworks, you will instruct students on the following essential competencies:
● Theory & Science: Teach fundamental anatomy and physiology of the skin, skin disorders and diseases, product chemistry, bacteriology, and infection control.
● Practical Facial Techniques: Instruct and supervise manual and mechanical facials, mask applications, and specialty skin treatments across various skin types (dry, oily, mature, and problem skin).
● Specialty Services: Teach procedures for hair removal (waxing, tweezing, threading), makeup application, and artificial eyelash application.
● Electrical Devices: Instruct students on the safe setup, operation, and maintenance of electrical esthetics equipment and light therapy devices.
● Safety & Regulation: Ensure strict compliance with Florida Cosmetology laws and rules, sanitization and sterilization standards (EPA-approved and hospital-grade levels), and workplace safety regulations.
● Employability & Salon Business: Help students develop professional ethics, client communication skills, retail sales techniques, and salon management/scheduling software practices.
Job Qualifications
● Licensure: Active Florida Cosmetology License or Florida Facials Specialist Registration is required.
● Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of active, professional experience working as an Esthetician/Facials Specialist in a clinical or salon setting.
● Teaching/Leadership Experience: Prior experience teaching, training, or mentoring in a cosmetology school or educational environment is highly preferred.
● Skills:
○ Strong communication and public speaking skills to engage adult learners.
○ Familiarity with digital productivity tools for grading and attendance.
○ Commitment to student success and strict adherence to Florida Board of Cosmetology standards.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This role takes place in an active classroom and classroom clinical lab environment. The instructor must be able to demonstrate physical procedures, supervise student-on-student clinical practices, stand for extended periods, and handle industry-standard esthetic products and electrical equipment.
Pay: From $32.00 per hour
