Schedule: Full-time (36 hours/week)
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Our Internal & Family Medicine practice is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a well-established private practice that has proudly served the Yuba-Sutter community for many years. Our office is committed to providing high-quality, personalized care while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for both our patients and staff.
Because a large portion of our patient population primarily speaks Punjabi, fluency in both English and Punjabi is required to ensure clear communication and exceptional patient care.
We are looking for a motivated Medical Assistant who enjoys working directly with patients, thrives in a fast-paced outpatient setting, and values teamwork and professionalism. Our ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and eager to build lasting relationships with patients while supporting the daily operations of our practice.
We are hoping to have our new Medical Assistant begin training during the week of August 24, 2026 to ensure a smooth transition with our current Medical Assistant. Full time employment and responsibilities will begin August 31, 2026.
Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you will play an essential role in both clinical and administrative aspects of our Internal Medicine practice. Responsibilities include:
- Welcome and room patients for their appointments
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and current medications
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist the physician during office visits and minor procedures
- Administer injections, immunizations, and perform EKGs
- Perform point-of-care testing as appropriate
- Process prescription refill requests
- Complete referrals and obtain insurance authorizations
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient follow-up care
- Answer incoming telephone calls and accurately relay patient messages
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical equipment while maintaining OSHA and infection control standards
- Assist with front office responsibilities as needed to support overall clinic operations
- Deliver compassionate, respectful, and professional patient care at every interaction
QualificationsRequired
- Fluent in both English and Punjabi
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or current Medical Assistant certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office
- Professional, dependable, and compassionate attitude
- Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records (EMR)
Preferred
- Previous experience in an Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Primary Care practice
- Experience administering injections and immunizations
- Experience performing EKGs
- Experience processing referrals and prior authorizations
- Knowledge of insurance verification and prescription refill workflows
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
