MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Valid Florida drivers license.

Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree.

Two (2) years of security, law enforcement experience, public safety, corrections or military experience.

One (1) year of experience working in a school, with students, or a youth program.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.

Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.

Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.

Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.

Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.

Ability to listen and make astute observations regarding daily life, people, and surroundings.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and objective calm behavior in emergency situations.

Ability to physically manage student conduct and conflict and intervene and de-escalate in a crisis situation as necessary.

Ability to work a rotating and flexible schedule.

Ability to maintain logs and prepare simple reports.

Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time.

If certified, ability to administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness, injury, or life-threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines.

Implement campus security, policies, and practices as directed by supervisor.

Monitor student behavior at school locations, including before and after school programs.

Monitor employee and public behavior for security purposes while at District locations.

Report any security deficiencies or potential problems to supervisor.

Maintain, store, and retrieve information in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner using standard office systems, equipment, and software.

Screen and process the public and personnel upon entering or leaving the site.

Assist in student discipline and monitor attendance according to current behavior management plans and policies.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with District personnel, parents, students, and the public; work collaboratively as a team.

Respect confidential information and the privacy of students, staff, and parents.

If certified, administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness, injury, or life-threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines.
