Overview
The Estimator / Project Manager will support both business development and project execution activities. This role will be responsible for reviewing bid documents, preparing estimates and proposals, coordinating with engineering and fabrication teams, managing project schedules, and maintaining communication with customers and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has experience in construction, architectural metals, transit infrastructure, specialty fabrication, or related industries and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Estimating Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Develop proposal packages and pricing breakdowns
- Support bid strategy discussions and risk assessments
- Track project opportunities and maintain estimating records
Project Management Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects from award through fabrication and delivery
- Manage schedules, milestones, and project documentation
- Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, and fabrication teams
- Maintain communication with customers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers
- Track RFIs, submittals, approvals, and change orders
- Monitor budgets and assist with cost tracking
- Identify and proactively resolve project risks and issues
- Identify project scope, quantities, inclusions, and exclusions
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of estimating, project management, or related construction/manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience reading construction drawings and specifications
- Understanding of architectural metals, transit infrastructure, signage, shelters, or custom fabrication preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, project management software, or ERP systems is an asset
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
