Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles, along with proficiency in accounting software. This role is essential for assisting clients in preparing their tax returns accurately and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service. We do pay overtime during the peak tax season months.
Duties
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures, to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
- Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks , to manage client accounts and ensure accurate reporting.
- Conduct thorough calculations using strong math skills to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice to clients.
- Assist clients with inquiries regarding their tax situations and provide guidance on financial planning strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Prepare and file Payroll and Sales tax reports. Run payroll and make payroll tax payments on behalf of clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tax preparation and public accounting is preferred.
- Strong technical accounting skills with proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Excellent math skills with the ability to perform calculations accurately.
- Familiarity with financial sales concepts is a plus.
- Ability to type efficiently using 10 key typing skills for data entry tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with clients.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

- Income tax preparation and bookkeeping: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Ptin (Preferred)
