Principal Function
The Pastor is responsible to God to lead FBC of Etowah, TN, for leading members to witness; to grow and develop in Christian maturity; and to participate in Christian Ministries; and for acting as the administrator of the paid church staff.
Areas of Accountability
- Preach and teach the inerrant word of God, and, in doing so foster the growth and leadership of the church body.
- Plan and conduct the worship services; prepare and deliver sermons Sunday morning and Wednesday evening; lead in observance of the church ordinances.
- Set an example in growing the church by visiting members, prospects and the sick.
- Conduct counseling sessions; perform wedding ceremonies; and conduct funerals. These services will be performed at the discretion of the Pastor and in keeping with the function listed above.
- Work with deacons, church officers, and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities. The Pastor shall serve as ex-officio (non-voting) member of all committees.
- Act as moderator of the church business meetings.
- Serve as administrator of the paid church staff; supervise the work of assigned paid staff workers.
- Edit church publications as assigned.
Qualifications
A clear testimony of Faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour
Master of Divinity - preferred
Minimum of 6 years’ experience as Pastor
Relocation required to McMinn County, TN; preferably Etowah, TN
Offer a blended style of preaching and worship
Support the direction of the church by being active in the community and visitation
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
