ABOUT THE ROLE
FOH at one of the longest-running organic, allergen-friendly restaurants in the Twin Cities — a neighborhood staple built on real food, real community, and a team that shows up for each other. We are looking for a Front of House Manager who doesn't just manage a shift — they set the tone for it.
This role is for someone who is genuinely energized by leading people, who believes great hospitality starts from within the team, and who thrives in an environment where no two days are exactly the same. If you get a personal satisfaction from seeing your team succeed, from turning a slow moment into a training opportunity, and from creating a dining room where both guests and staff feel they belong — we want to hear from you.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and genuinely motivate a front-of-house team of servers, hosts, and baristas
- Model the hospitality standards you expect — on the floor, every shift
- Identify each team member's strengths and create opportunities for them to grow
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, give real feedback, and celebrate wins publicly
- Build a team culture where accountability and encouragement go hand in hand
- Step in during difficult moments with calm, clear leadership — not panic
Daily Operations
- Open and/or close the restaurant with precision and ownership
- Manage floor coverage, section assignments, and real-time staffing adjustments
- Partner with the kitchen on timing, communication, and service flow
- Ensure FOH readiness: cleanliness, setup, sidework, and presentation standards
- Handle guest concerns swiftly, professionally, and with genuine care
- Manage cash handling, POS, and end-of-shift reporting accurately
Scheduling & Staffing
- Build weekly FOH schedules that balance coverage, labor targets, and team needs
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new FOH team members
- Track attendance, performance, and follow through on corrective conversations when needed
Sales & Guest Experience
- Drive table-side upselling through team training and genuine enthusiasm for the menu
- Maintain a dining room atmosphere that reflects French Meadow's warm, inclusive identity
- Identify and address service gaps before guests have to point them out
- Collaborate with ownership on events, promotions, and community programming
WHO YOU ARE
We're not just looking for experience — we're looking for character. The right candidate will bring:
- A genuine love of leading people — not just managing tasks
- The ability to motivate without micromanaging and hold standards without rigidity
- High emotional intelligence: you read the room, you read your team, you adjust
- A bias toward action — you see a problem, you solve it, you don't wait to be asked
- Unshakeable composure during a rush, a short staff, or a difficult guest
- Loyalty to the people on your team and pride in the place you work
- Clear, direct communication — upward, downward, and sideways
- A belief that a well-run shift is a form of craft
