Project Manager 2 – IT Project Delivery
Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Project Manager 2 position supporting technology project delivery within a complex, matrixed program environment at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Salary: $60/hr – $70/hr
Location: Hybrid – at least 2 days a week in Los Alamos, NM

Candidates must have:
- Demonstrated hands-on project management experience leading projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Proven experience developing schedules and coordinating project activities, preferably across multiple organizations or business functions.
- Experience supporting IT project scheduling and delivery. Candidates without demonstrated project scheduling and coordination experience will not be considered.

As a Project Manager, you will coordinate business and technical teams, drive project execution, and ensure successful delivery of ERP modernization initiatives within a highly collaborative, matrixed program environment.
Working alongside program leadership, functional stakeholders, and technical teams, you will play a key role in delivering projects that improve operational efficiency while supporting LANL's national security mission.
- Manage Supply Chain and Manufacturing projects of low to moderate complexity through the complete project lifecycle.
- Lead project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout activities.
- Develop and maintain project charters, Project Management Plans (PMPs), schedules, and project documentation.
- Coordinate activities across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, business owners, technical teams, vendors, and program leadership.
- Track project scope, schedule, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Monitor project performance against schedule and budget while implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Support project governance, reporting, and program controls.
- Partner with customers and stakeholders to establish expectations and resolve project issues.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coordinate operational readiness and transition activities upon project completion.
- Participate in project budget planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Develop status reports and provide project performance updates.
- Support project teams operating within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
- Contribute to achieving organizational goals while operating with limited direction.
- Minimum 10 years of professional work experience, including significant project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Strong organizational, planning, scheduling, and coordination skills.
- Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Working knowledge of Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and ERP business processes.
- Experience producing professional project documentation, including:
- Project Charters
- Project Management Plans (PMPs)
- Project schedules
- Technical documentation
- Ability to partner with customers while defining expectations and mutual responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent.
- Thorough understanding of project management methodologies, tools, budgeting, scheduling, and performance measurement.
- Knowledge of project controls, risk management, and corrective action implementation.
- Experience preparing detailed project status reports.
- Ability to work onsite approximately two days per week (or more as required).
- Must be a local candidate able to support onsite meetings in Santa Fe and Los Alamos.
- Must be eligible for LANL A-Level Access.
- Experience supporting ERP modernization initiatives.
- Experience managing Supply Chain or Manufacturing projects.
- Experience leading cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working within hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments.
- Technical writing, editing, and presentation development skills.
- Familiarity with government, federal, DOE, or regulated industry project environments.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Experience serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
- Ability to quickly onboard and contribute with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
- DOE Q Clearance or ability to obtain one is a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Scientific discipline, or related field preferred.
- Specialized coursework in Project Management may be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of professional work experience leading project activities.
- Experience in engineering, procurement, construction, IT, or related technical project environments is preferred.
- PMP certification, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe certification, or equivalent Agile certification is preferred but not required.
- Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience will be considered.
