Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to ensure healthy and attractive grounds
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and tree trimming machinery safely and efficiently
- Install and repair irrigation systems to optimize water use and promote plant health
- Maintain hardscape features like walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures with precision and care
- Identify plants accurately to ensure proper care and pest management; apply pesticides following safety protocols when necessary
- Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and removal to promote safety and aesthetic appeal
- Follow all safety protocols diligently during outdoor work to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or groundskeeping with outdoor work environments preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, irrigation systems, and construction machinery such as excavators
- Familiarity with plant identification techniques and horticulture best practices
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, hand tools, and snow plowing machinery when applicable
- Knowledge of pesticide management procedures aligned with safety standards
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to outdoor work environments and equipment operation
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation is a plus
- Excellent physical stamina for outdoor tasks such as lifting, bending, digging, and operating heavy machinery
