Position: Security Supervisor Reports To: Operations Manager
Status: Full Time (Non-Exempt – 32.0 minimum weekly paid hours) Location: Onsite
Work Days: Week Days, Sundays, Some Evenings, Some Saturdays, and/or Specific Holidays as scheduled.
Position Purpose/Summary:
The purpose of the Security Supervisor position is to manage the Security Staff Team, enforce all safety/ security policies and procedures and ensure that the Antioch Baptist Church facility, premises, congregation, guests and vendors are always safe. The Security Supervisor will recruit, train, schedule and supervise all security staff members. In addition to the supervisory responsibilities, the Security Supervisor will perform a variety of security and safety duties and related functions. The Security Supervisor must have OPATA Firearm Certified Training (20-hour class minimum).
Qualifications:
· A High School Diploma or GED.
· Minimum of 2 years as Security Officer.
· Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
· Current/Active OPATA Firearm Certificate.
· Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Possess good written and oral communication skills; must understand English.
· Sound judgment and decision-making skills,
· Conscientious sense of duty and unquestionable integrity.
· Poised, decisive and calm under pressure.
· Must be in excellent physical and mental condition. Have good eyesight and hearing. Be able to walk for extended periods of time and able to climb and descend stairs.

1. Manage/Supervise Security Team
· Recruit, train, schedule and supervise all security staff members.
· Recruit, train, schedule and supervise security team volunteers, as needed.
· Ensure appropriate number of security officers are scheduled at all worship services, ministry event, and/or community events at Antioch.
· Schedule Security Team member to open, monitor and close the building based on approved office hours and activities of events.
· Assist in the development of all safety and security policies and procedures.
· Enforce all safety and security policies and procedures.
· Keep up to date file of all activity reports and incident reports that the officers have completed.
· Maintain up to date log of everyone who has keys to any doors at Antioch Baptist Church.
· Document problems and report irregularities and maintenance issues, security doors left open, etc., to the Operations Manager.
· Manage & maintain the Church Van
§ Arrange for the church van to have regular servicing and filled with gas.
§ Ensure Church Van is safety parked.
§ Manage and schedule an approved van driver.
§ Report to Operations Manager any concerns regarding the Van.
· Mange the Cleveland Clinic Parkers Program
§ Develop positive relationship with parkers.
§ Maintain and accurate list of approved parkers.
§ Collect and submit monthly parking fees.
§ Communicate with the parkers regarding parking approvals, delinquent payments, cancelation of parking privileges.
§ Have unapproved parkers towed
2. Monitor and Maintain Security Systems
· Responsible for the care of security system/equipment, radios, keys and other equipment.
· Recommend new security system/equipment as needed.
· Contact security vendor(s) for maintenance and/or service as needed.
3. Performs Various Security Functions
· Accept the responsibilities and fulfills the obligations of a security officer by protecting life and property of the church.
· Follows all Antioch Baptist Church policies and procedures.
· Open and Close the church facilities as assigned.
· Maintains constant surveillance of the assigned areas providing maximum visibility.
· Be familiar with the location and operation of fire alarms and first aid.
· Maintain a safe and secure environment for members, visitors, and staff by continuously patrolling and monitoring the premises.
· Provide a visual security presence.
· Must be tactful, courteous and helpful, maintaining excellent public relations at all times.
· Continuously survey and patrol the exterior of the principal Church building, adjacent structures, parking lots and grounds, on foot or in a vehicle to prevent theft, violence, vandalism or infractions against the Church.
· Monitor and use modern security systems, equipment and strategies as adopted by the Church.
· Screen and direct visitors and provide information to the Church members, contractors, and community members that are entering the Church or are on Church grounds, for meetings, special events, provision of services, etc.
· Prevent access to restricted areas.
· Take appropriate action in case of fire or of the presence of unauthorized persons either in the Church, adjacent buildings, the parking lot or on the grounds. Respond to emergencies until police arrive. Responsible for protecting people from unsafe situations.
· Control traffic by directing drivers to appropriate spaces and/or parking lots for worship services, ministry events and community events.
· Serve as an escort for those transporting collection contributions to the counting room (Trustee Office) on Sundays and accompany Church personnel to the bank to make deposits.
4. Assist Ministry/Community Leader and Church Members/Guests
· Open/Close the building for activities, as a needed.
· Serve as staff support for ministry activities as needed.
· Greet Leader and Church Members/Guests who are participating in the activity.
5. Active Participant of Operation Team
· Participate in all staff meetings, trainings, retreats.
· Complete routine and standardized written reports as required.
· Performs any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager
Working Conditions:
- Works inside and outside the church.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Requires the ability to occasionally work irregular and flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
· Must be physically able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk to monitor security cameras and working on a computer.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have valid Fire Arm OPATA Certificate
- All staff are required to undergo a background check, fingerprinting, and /or medical exam to meet DCFS requirements.
Direct Reports:
- Supervises the Part-Time Security Officers and has overall responsibility for ensuring that every area of church facility and parking lots are safe and secure.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
