As a Commercial Lines Account Manager - Team Lead, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional client service while helping shape the success of a high-performing Commercial Lines team. This position combines hands-on account management responsibilities with leadership opportunities, allowing you to drive client retention, support team development, and help ensure operational excellence across the department.
You will manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients while serving as a trusted resource for Account Managers, Producers, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders. Your expertise, mentorship, and commitment to service will help create consistent client experiences and strengthen team performance.
- Lead and mentor Commercial Lines Account Managers, fostering professional growth, accountability, and consistent service excellence.
- Manage a book of commercial insurance accounts, overseeing renewals, policy changes, coverage reviews, and ongoing client service needs.
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex coverage questions, client concerns, and carrier negotiations to ensure timely resolution.
- Establish and reinforce service standards, workflows, and best practices that improve operational consistency and client satisfaction.
- Support onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development initiatives for Commercial Lines team members.
- Monitor workloads, productivity, and quality metrics to help maintain service level expectations and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carrier partners, Producers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate documentation within the agency management system and compliance with agency procedures and industry standards.

- Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license.
- 3-5 years of Commercial Lines insurance experience, including commercial account management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines products, coverages, underwriting principles, and policy servicing practices.
- Experience managing commercial client relationships, renewals, policy changes, and coverage reviews.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and agency management systems.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service.
- Previous leadership, team lead, supervisory, mentoring, or coaching experience.
- Experience with Applied Epic agency management system.
- Demonstrated success supporting operational improvements, workflow development, or quality initiatives.
- Experience serving as a resource for complex client service issues, carrier negotiations, or coverage consultations.
- Ongoing professional development within the commercial insurance industry.
