Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join our dynamic culinary and hospitality team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food service experiences across various dining settings, including fine dining, catering, and banquet events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food handling, customer service, and food safety protocols, ensuring that every guest receives high-quality service in a clean and welcoming environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food items efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including portioning, garnishing, and plating dishes according to established standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, adhering strictly to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, slicers, and POS systems for processing transactions.
- Handle manual tasks such as weight handling in the workplace and serving food to guests in person.
- Support food safety management practices by following proper handling procedures and documenting compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests professionally, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Assist with catering and banquet setups, including serving at events and managing food presentation.
- Process cash transactions accurately using POS systems while maintaining accountability for sales.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods or special events.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service roles within fine dining or restaurant environments.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary standards.
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on in-person interactions.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Experience with POS systems for processing transactions.
- Knowledge of wine pairing and beverage service is a plus.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including weight lifting.
- Previous banquet or catering experience is desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
- Understanding of food safety management practices across various dining contexts.
