The Journeyman Fire Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for installing new systems, relocation of new and/or existing fire sprinkler heads, inspection and testing of new systems and/or existing systems and interpreting work specifications and fire codes. This person’s motivated and looking to help grow the fire sprinkler division while managing quality and consistency of work and service delivery in accordance with Pro-Craft Constructions standards providing customers with an exceptional experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installation of new automatic fire sprinkler systems including wet, pre-auction, and fire pumps in strict accordance with applicable standards/codes.
- Ability to understand and apply building codes, blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Management of material and scheduling needs.
- Coordination of production needs.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully to develop alternative solutions.
- Adhere to OSHA standards and Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
Technical Skills:
- Experience working on public works new construction and occupied facilities.
- Understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, state regulations, and local codes related to Fire Sprinklers and Fire Safety.
Communication:
- Demonstrates leadership and communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Qualifications:
- OSHA 30
- CPR/First Aid
- Valid Cal Fire Card
- Commercial fire sprinkler experience
- Knowledge and understanding of plans and specs
- Commercial/Residential plumbing experience
- Reliable transportation
- Candidates must successfully complete an employment background check.
- Candidate must be a Journeyman/Journeywoman Graduate
