We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and reliability efforts within a chemical manufacturing plant environment. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, PLC-based controls, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment to support safe and continuous plant operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, MCCs, PLC panels, HMIs, VFDs, and associated field wiring
- Support PLC-based control systems and troubleshoot control-related electrical issues to minimize downtime
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, panels, motors, conduit, and control wiring
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, and wiring drawings
- Assist with control system upgrades, commissioning activities, and system modifications
- Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analyzer devices
- Perform loop checks, instrument wiring, and basic calibration activities
- Troubleshoot and maintain pumps, piping systems, gearboxes, evaporators, burners, blowers, and other industrial process equipment
- Repair and replace valves, control valves, solenoids, actuators, and related process equipment
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the facility
- Utilize volt meters, electrical testing devices, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and aerial lifts safely and effectively
- Fabricate and install piping systems, pipe supports, conduit stands, and related metal structures as needed
- Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment safely
- Maintain compliance with NEC standards, plant electrical standards, LOTO procedures, and site-specific safety requirements
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in industrial electrical maintenance, instrumentation, controls, or multi-craft maintenance required
- Experience working in chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, or oil & gas environments preferred
- Knowledge of PLC systems, HMIs, VFDs, MCCs, instrumentation, and industrial controls preferred
- Experience troubleshooting pumps, motors, valves, burners, blowers, and rotating equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial plant environment
