Job Description
Core Diagnostic Laboratories is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Specimen Processor to be a part of our growing laboratory team located in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience ordering and processing blood, urine, swab, and stool specimens and must be comfortable handling biohazardous materials with provided PPE.
Night Shift 10:00pm to 6:30am Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
- Receive samples from couriers.
- Sort samples and identify problem samples.
- Track courier drop times and manifest logs.
- Deliver samples to the appropriate departments.
- Enter patient demographic and insurance information into the LIS
- Accurately order all tests listed on the patient requisition form
- Appropriately process samples according to the testing criteria
- Follow HIPPA regulations and Universal Precautions
- Communicate issues to management in a timely manner
Skills:
· Data Entry
· Attention to detail
· Sample processing experience
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Efficient in computer operations
· Previous lab experience is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
