Restaurant Cleaning & Sanitation Specialist (Part-Time or contract)

Position Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our restaurant. Most of your work will be performed independently before opening and after closing, allowing you to focus on creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment without the distractions of a busy restaurant. You'll be trusted to manage your time effectively and complete assigned cleaning tasks with little to no supervision while maintaining our high standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize the dining room, kitchen, bar, restrooms, and service areas.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain all flooring throughout the restaurant.
- Clean tables, booths, chairs, high chairs, table pedestals, walls, doors, windows, and other guest-facing surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment exteriors, prep areas, shelving, and storage areas.
- Complete scheduled deep-cleaning projects, including equipment, baseboards, vents, coolers, and other detailed cleaning tasks.
- Polish stainless steel surfaces and maintain a clean, professional appearance throughout the restaurant.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
- Safely use commercial cleaning equipment, chemicals, and cleaning products while following all safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
- Notify management of maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards.
- Follow all health department sanitation standards and company cleaning procedures.
- Help maintain an organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Work independently while managing your time efficiently and completing all assigned cleaning checklists.
- Perform additional cleaning and sanitation duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, janitorial, custodial, hotel housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy, as you'll often be working alone.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending, reaching, kneeling, and standing throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working around cleaning chemicals while following proper safety procedures.
- Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality work.

Pay: $16.00–$20.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Part-Time (Approximately 16–25 hours per week). Most shifts will be scheduled before opening and/or after closing, when the restaurant is not serving guests.
