Mechanical / Piping Engineer - Revit (1636500) — Summary:
This Mechanical / Piping Engineer will support heavy industrial and mining projects by designing piping, material-handling, crushing, and HVAC systems. The role combines hands-on engineering with design leadership, using Revit to develop coordinated, code-compliant deliverables and guide technical staff across multiple project phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, at least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience supporting mining or heavy industrial projects, and a solid record of project continuity.
- Strong Revit capability plus experience preparing and interpreting P&IDs and PFDs and designing piping, platework, material-handling, crushing, and HVAC systems.
- Working knowledge of material selection, piping or platework stress analysis, mechanical integrity, and applicable API, ASME, MSS, and ASTM standards; PE licensure is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for small through large industrial projects, including equipment, facilities, components, and integrated systems.
- Define project requirements; prepare equipment and material specifications, bid evaluations, technical documentation, and operating procedures; and perform QA reviews of engineering deliverables.
- Lead and coordinate engineers, designers, drafters, clients, and internal stakeholders while managing simultaneous projects, design criteria, scope, cost, schedule, and technical issue resolution.
Important Notes
- This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT and is approximately 90% office-based.
- The schedule is first shift and generally 40+ hours per week.
