Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients, particularly in senior care and assisted living environments. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, patient care protocols, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and dementia.
Duties
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities for seniors and those with acute care needs.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patients' health status and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Assist in the training of new staff members on best practices in patient care.
- Uphold a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and human anatomy.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Experience in medication administration and understanding of pharmacology.
- Background in senior care, particularly with dementia care techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities.
- Proficient in managing medical records and documentation processes.
- Experience in acute care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
