H.A.T.C.H. is seeking an individual who enjoys working with people and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
H.A.T.C.H. is a non-profit organization and vendor of the Regional Center of the East Bay. For over 50 years, we have proudly served individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. We provide In-Home Day Program services, Independent Living Skills (ILS) support, and Respite Services to individuals referred to our program.
Position Overview
We are currently hiring for a position in the East Bay. The ideal candidate is energetic, kind-hearted, patient, mature, responsible, and dependable. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with others and engaging in community-based activities.
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (flexibility may be available)
All federal and state holidays are observed (not worked).
Client Support & Goal Areas
Support is tailored to each client’s individual interests and goals, which may take place at home or in the community. Areas of focus may include:
- Day Program activities (developing personal interests)
- Community access and outings
- Communication skills
- Physical exercise
- Self-esteem and self-advocacy
- Mental, visual, and physical stimulation
Desired Qualifications & Attributes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with staff, families, and Case Managers
- Knowledge and/or experience with developmental disabilities
- Patience, flexibility, and good judgment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Cultural competency and sensitivity
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage potentially challenging behaviors
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Reliable, dependable, and able to consistently work scheduled shifts
- Valid driver’s license, insured, dependable vehicle
- Experience working with adults in community settings
- Ability to lead and engage in social and recreational activities
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and meaningful activities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Support client goals in home and community settings
- Complete daily reports reflecting progress on goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Employment & Compliance Requirements
- Fingerprint clearance (provided and paid by H.A.T.C.H.)
- CPR/First Aid certification (paid by H.A.T.C.H. if needed; renewal every 2 years)
- Negative TB test prior to start date (updated every 2 years)
- Completion of Mandated Abuse Reporter Training every 2 years

- Verification of legal authorization to work in the United States
